Path to Primes
Make community benefit a competitive advantage
Cultivate Connections & Local Community Benefits
Path to Primes™ is an innovative program that helps prime contractors and public agencies work together to create lasting positive impact for small businesses and the local economy.
Path to Primes provides a turnkey solution for prime contractors to meet community benefit, XBE subcontractor, and local workforce goals by incorporating training, engagement and visibility for small businesses and tradespeople from the local community.
Gain a Competitive Edge
By demonstrating commitment to diversity and inclusion, prime contractors can increase their value to project owners.
Meet Funding Requirements
The program helps prime contractor and subcontractors comply with project small business and local hire goals.
Maximize Efficiency & Cost-Effectiveness
The program reduces internal costs associated with outreach, recruiting, monitoring, and meeting XBE and inclusion goals.
Program Overview
Path to Primes is designed to enhance local small business relationship development as well as cultivating a stronger local workforce from the inception of the project to completion. This is done through a combination of a Capabilities Showcase, training sessions, networking opportunities, and an ongoing resources hub. An investment in Path to Prime provides lasting value in the form of better partners and stronger workforce.
Capabilities Showcase Protal
Path to Primes enhances the value of traditional "meet the primes" events by helping small business owners improve their marketing materials and making connections through an online showcase portal. Each profile consists of a 60 second company video and capabilities statement.
The showcase portal also includes profiles from prime contractors and public agencies highlighting services needed for the project and how subcontractors can bid on contracts.
Marketing Tools and Training
The program includes virtual workshops that help small business owners develop their intro video and an on-demand course: Writing a Capability Statement
with live feedback session.
Training for community tradespeople also includes video profile coaching and entrepreneur mindset training to stand apart and increase their employment possibilities.
To supplement the training and showcase portal, participants have access to the TradesNetwork online resources hub which provides additional educational resources, webinars and events, and connects business owners to bid opportunities and to other owners in order to build new business relationships.
